Petite France sources its Savon de Marseille soap from 2 of the 4 remaining original Marseille soap makers located in Marseille, France. This ensures that our savon de Marseille is of the highest quality and authentic olive oil soap. 

With already 160 years of existence, our soap maker carries on a recipe passed down to each new generation of master soap-makers. 
Saponification takes place in our old cauldrons according to a traditional method... Following the recipe certified by Colbert's Edict in 1688 and consolidated by Napoleon Bonaparte's decree of 1812, we manufacture it in five steps: pasting, graining out, boiling, washing and liquidation. These five steps are the reason for the iconic soap's renown.
